Competitive shooter. I recently had Jan Merson of American
Gunsmith & Armorers do several trigger/action jobs Beretta 92 FS, for my work and competition Pistols.I could not be happier with the work performed!
Jan far exceeded my expectations. He was knowledgeable,professional,and
friendly! He also mounted two scopes on two rifles and sighted
them in at 100 yards. He also installed two extended magazine releases on them as well,these jobs were done to perfection. Guns are my life and I have
a hard time trusting people with my firearms, I do HIGHLY RECOMMEND
and TRUST Jan Merson of American Gunsmiths. I almost forgot,
the turn- around time was truly amazing.... 6 days from drop off to pick up.

I am a customer of American Firearms for for both firearms transfers and gunsmithing. The firearms transfers are always performed quickly and without any problems. However, the gunsmithing is where they really shine. There is no job too small or too complex for them to handle. Their craftsmanship is always of the highest quality and their pricing is very reasonable. They also treat you as a friend, not just a revenue generator. Now days it is very difficult to find the quality, pricing and individual attention provided by American Firearms.

I am a retired Police Officer, and I went to Jan, because I needed work on my Combat Commander. It took me all of 1 minute, to decide that he was THE MAN, to do all of my 'smith work. I gave him more work that I had planned on, for the Commander, plus a timing job on a 1950's vintage K-22 Masterpiece, a new stock on a family heirloom Winchester rifle, and other work to be decided, as we go. If you need a competent gunsmith, who has INCREDIBLE turn around time, and is oriented towards customer satisfaction, the only guy for you, is Jan. BAR NONE! This guy is the real deal. Outstanding work, fair price, great turnaround time. Who could ask for anything more? You will be very happy, that you went to Jan, for your 'smiting work.
I have passed on recommendations to SEVERAL of my cop buddies, including a retired Lieutenant LASD, a current sergeant at an L. A. County municipal P. D., a detective at a San Bernardino County Muni P. D. and a few retired Pomona, LBPD, SBPD, LASD, SBSD, and LAPD guys. One guy is even retired RCMP, and plans to go to Jan. Jan is the "go to" guy, for high quality, low cost and rapid work, on your guns. I cannot stress enough, how happy I am with his work. I wish I could post a few photos of the outstanding work he did on my Commander. Wow, what a job he did! I can't rave enough!!! You will become a fan, if you go to Jan.

I ran into Jan at the gunshow in Costa Mesa, and i am really glad i did, he refinished my 1911 clone with Duracoat, and without changing extra,he worked on the barrel to allow for smooth feeding of any kind of ammo. the finish on the gun looks new out of the box, and no feeding problems........

Yes, it is all true! Others have made very accurate comments about the Master Gunsmith, Jan Merson. He is the go-to-guy for all your firearms "smithing" from simple to complex, common or rare. Jan's work on my Sig and Glock pistols is exceptional! What a thrill it is to press the trigger on a pistol that has been given the "Merson Treatment" and feel the smooth, crisp action that results in exceptional accuracy ... Wow! What else can I say? Oh yes, take your handgun or long gun to Jan and then you can understand first-hand what we cannot fully describe about his fine work.

I've been looking for a competent gunsmith willing to handle jobs both big and small for several years. I was lucky enough to run into Jan at a gun show in August and have already had him do a custom reblue job on my Walther PPKS and replace a recoil pad on my rifle which required some extra work than normal. Most gunsmiths working out of L.A. County gun stores did not even want to give me a quote let alone accept the job. Jan does the work you ask of him, completes it when he says he will and does it for the fair price he said he would. I have several other gunsmithing jobs that need to be done and I'm going to be taking all of them to Jan.
